The goal of Golf Solitaire is to remove all cards from the board.
The game starts by dealing out 35 cards onto the table. The rest of the cards go onto the card pile, and 1 card is flipped onto the discard pile.
Cards can be moved onto the discard pile from the main board in sequence, either ascending or descending, regardless of suit. For instance, this could be a valid
sequence of cards:
9-10-J-10-J-9-8-7-6-7
If a card cannot be moved onto the discard pile, a new card can be flipped onto the discard pile from the card deck.
Aces and Kings are special cases. And Ace can only be moved onto a 2. And a King can only be moved onto a Queen. So plan your strategy carefully around these cards.
When no more cards can be placed, the game is over. The final score is the number of cards left on the table. Just like in real golf, a lower score is better!
