Involuntary muscle action:
maintain heartbeat to pump blood
participate in reflexes
Smooth muscles:
responsible for propelling through the urinary tract
moving food along the digestive tract
dilating the pupils of the eyes
fascia

Isometric contractions
do not increase the length of a muscle but do increasse muscle tension
Isotonic contractions
shorten and thicken the muscle causing movement.
Range of motion
the total amount of motion that a joint is capable of.
