Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you many declare the prases of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own gory and goodness.
