Domestic violence emcompasses three types of occurances:

Violence perpetrated on someone unknown to the assailant?

Is strongly associated with substance misuse-particularly for alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and meth

Is a physical or mental injury, sexual exploitation, negligent tx, or maltreatment of a child unde the age of 18 (or the age specified by the child protection law of the state in question) by a parent or parent substitute.

Is the failure of a parent or parent substitute to provide, for reasons other than poverty, adequate food, shelter, or medical care to seriously endanger the physical health of a child

Includes, but is not limited to, lacerations, fractured bones, burns, inernal injuries, severe bruising, or serious bodily harm is

Harm to a child's psychological or intellectual functioning. It may be exhibited by severe anxiety, depression, withdrawal, or outward agressive behavior or a combination of those behaviors which may be demonstraed by a change in behavior, emotional response, or cognition is

Includes employment, use, persuasion, inducement, enticemen, or coercion of a child to engage in or assis another person to engage in sexual eplicit conduct. It is the rape, molestation, prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation of children or incest with children

Is actual or simulated sexual intercourse whether w/ the persons of the same sex or of the opposite sex, beastiality, masturbation, lascivious exhibition of the genital or public area of a person or animal or sadistic or masochistic abuse is

Is sexual involvement such as oral genital contact, genital fondling, and viewing or masturbation
