  1. Hemoglobin (Hgb)
    Protein in RBC's that carries O2
  2. Hematocit (Hct)
    Measure percentage of RBC in blood
  3. Low Value Hct
    Destruction of RBC
  4. High Value Hct
    Low O2 (Hypoxia), dehydration
  5. Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)
    measures the amount of nitrogen in your blood that comes from waste product urea
  6. High Level BUN
    • Renals not working
    • High protein intake
    • Inadequate fluid intake
    • Poor circulation
  7. Low Value BUN
    • Liver disease or damage
    • Malnutrition
  8. Creatinine (Creat)
    • Waste product of creatine which is found in the muscle.
    • Gives an estimate of renal filter waste
  9. High Creat Level
    Warn of possible malfunction or failure of the kidneys
  10. Platelet (Plt)
    They are smaller than RBC and WBC and help the blood to clot
  11. International Normalized Ratio
    Measure velocity of blood
  12. Low value INR
    Higher risk of clots
  13. High Value of INR
    Risk of bleeding
  14. Partial Thromboplastin Time (PTT)
    Time for blood to clot
  15. Prothrombine Time (PT)
    measure time it takes for plasma to clot
  16. Troponin
    Used to detect myocardial injury
  17. High levles of Troponin
    • Lvl > 2.0 - MI has happened or going to happen
    • .5 - 2.0 - Inidcate unstable angina, other heard disorders, chronic kidney failure
