Quiz
Angles inside a Quadrilateral always add up to...
360
What are the 4 most common Quadrilaterals?
1) Square
2) Rectangle
3) Parallelogram
4) Trapezoid
Area of Square =
L
2
Perimeter of a square =
4L
What am I?
1) All sides are same length and opposite sides are parralel
2) All angles = 90
Square
What am I?
1) Opposite sides are parallel and the same length
2) All angles = 90
Rectangle
What am I?
1) Opposite sides are parallel and the same length
2) Interior angles add up to 360
Parallelogram
What am I?
1) Two sides are parallel
2) Interior angles add up to 360
Trapezoid
Area of a Rectangle =
L * W
Perimeter of a Rectangle =
2L + 2W
Area of a Parallelogram =
Base * Height
Perimeter of a Parallelogram =
2a + 2b
Rhombus means...
All sides are the same length, but the angles are not 90 degrees.
Area of a Trapezoid =
1/2(b+c) * H
Perimeter of a Trapezoid =
a + b + c + d
What is a quadrilateral?
Four sided figure
What are the 3 diagonal properties of a square?
1) equal in length
2) intersect at 90 degrees
3) bisect each other
What are the 2 diagonal properties of a rectangle?
1) equal in length
2) bisect each other
What are the 2 diagonal properties of a rhombus?
1) intersect at 90 degrees
2) bisect each other
What is the diagonal property of a parallelogram?
1) Bisect each other
What is the formula for the sum of the interior angles for any polygon?
(number of sides - 2) * 180°
ex
: Pentagon (5 sides - 2) * 180 = 540
°
What is another way to figure out the total sum of any polygon?
Divide the polygon into triangles. We know that each triangle's sum of angles = 180.
What is the definition of a regular polygon?
All sides and angles are exactly the same length and measure.
How do you find each angle in a regular polygon?
Divide the sum of the interior angles by the # of sides.
Ex
: Pentagon total = 540°, # of sides = 5
540/5 = 108° each angle.
