  4. ACTIONS
    1. On the bronchi: bronchodialation (Beta 2)

    2. On the peripheral vasculature: vasoconstriction

    • 3. On the heart
    • Increased heart rate (Beta 1) chronotropic
    • Increased contractility/inotropic
    • Increased AV conduction/ dromotropic
    • Increased automoticity/dromotropic
  5. INDICATIONS
    1. Cardiac Arrest

    2. Refractory Bradycardia

    3. Life threatening bronchoconstriction

    4. Anaphylaxis/ Allergic reaction
  6. CONTRAINDICATIONS
    None with indicaitons
  7. SIDE EFFECTS
    CNS: Anxiety, headach, CVA

    CV: Chest pain, A.M.I. Tachyarhythmias

    Misc. Vomiting, diaphoresis and pollar local tissure necrosis
  8. ADMINISTRATION
    • ARREST:
    • IO 1:10,000: 1mg q 3-5 min
    • SC 1:1000 : none

    • ALLERGIC REACTION
    • IO 1:10,000: .1 -10 mg q 10-15 min
    • SC 1:1000: .3-.5mg q 5-15min
  9. ONSET/DURATION
    IV/ET < 2min

    SC 3-10 min with longer duration
