- seizure history
- bipolar - can induce mania
- Treatment within 14 days of ceasing a MAOI = contraindicated

Dosage of duloxetine?
- depression - 60mg daily
- diabetic neuropathy - 60mg daily

counselling of duloxetine?
- Take with food to minimise stomach upsets.
- Do not open, crush or chew capsules.
- Be careful driving or operating machinery until you know how duloxetine affects you.
- Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly unless your doctor tells you to.
- increased suicidal thoughts and behaviour can occur soon after starting
- antidepressants, particularly in young people; monitor patients
- frequently and carefully early in treatment

- hypertension - may be exacerbated by venlafaxine
- bipolar - may provoke manic episode

Dose of venlafaxine?
75 mg once daily, increasing to 150 mg once daily if required.
