3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

34 "A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Therefore each of you much put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another -- and all the more as you see the day approaching

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.

23 "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. first go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

Each one should whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully adminstering God's grace in its various forms.

From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

6 Remember this: Whoever sows ssparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices -- mint, dill, and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law -- justice, mercy and faithfullness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former."

Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.

Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.

5 Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
