- Have PT rotate the head, flex the neck laterally.

- Tests the flexors of the arm.
- Have PT flex elbow and supinate the forearm.

- Tests extensor muscles of the arm.
- Have PT extent the arm at the elbow.

- Have Pt Flex the hip and extend the knee.
- Tests Quadricep muscles.

- ABduct the arm against Resistance.
- Tests extension of the Humerus.

- Brush the skin of the anteriolateral neck and the shoulders region.

- ADduct the thigh.

- Tests adduction muscles of the arm.
- Adduct the arm against resistance.

Long Thoracic

- Tests protraction of the scapula.
- Have pt do horizontal arm movements as if punching or pushing away.

- Medially rotate the arm, adduct the humerus.
- Tests teres major and subscapular muscles.

Ulnar
BP
- Tests Anterior flexor muscles of the forearm.
- Flex the wrist, bring phalanges toward thumb to cup the hand.

Dorsal Scapular
BP
- Tests Rotation of the scapula.
- Have Pt imitate paddling a canoe.

Suprascapular
BP
- Tests Abduction muscles of the arm such as the Supraspinatus.
- Have PT abduct or laterally rotate the arm.

Oculomotor

- Test eye movement.
- Check pupil size, shape and reflex.
- Use penlight.

(V1) Opthalmic branch - touch cornea with whisp of cotton to elicit blinking.
(V2) Maxillary branch - test sensation of under eye, nose and upper lip areas by using safety pin, hot or cold items.
(V3) Mandibular branch - Clench teeth or close jaw against resistance.
