  1. Source: Drain, toilet, or even cleaners; Electric dishwasher detergent; Mildew remover; Batteries; Ammonia
    Treatments: Do not induce vomiting' Dilute immediately with water or milk, then do not allow oral intake; Maintain patent airway; Gastric lavage is contraindicated
    Corrosives (strong acids and alkali)
  2. Source: Gasoline; Kerosene; Lighter fluid; Turpentine
    Treatments: Treatment is controcersial; Do not induce vomiting (except in special circumstantes) because of the risk for aspiration pneumonia
    Hydrocarbons
  3. Source: Products containing aspirin
    Treatments: One or more of the following
    -Gastric lavage
    -Activated charcoal probably with repeat dosages
    -Alkaline diuresis
    -Hospitalization (severe) for supportive care
    Salicylates
  4. Source: OTC meds such as tylenol
    Treatments: Activated charcoal N-acetylcysteine (antidote)
    Acetaminophen
  5. Source: Mineral or vitamin supplement
    Treatment: Gastric lavage; Chelation therapy (dereroxamine)
    Iron
  6. Prescription medications such as Tylenol No. 3 (acetaminophen with codeine)
    Treatment: Antidote is N-acetylcysteine
    Opioids
  7. Source: Celecoxib; Ibuprofen, Naproxen, etc.
    Treatment: Gastric lavage; Activated charcoal; Cathartics
    NSAIDS
