    • Making judgements about the value or worth of a measure
    • Attatching meaning to test scores
    • ie. student got 100% evaulation is that students understands the material
  3. Why should we assess student learning?
    • summative assesment-monitor overall progress
    • formative assessment-monitor progress and plan diff instruction if needed
    • diagnosis-identify cause of problem
    • effects on learning-influence motivation, more tests better grades
