Most blood cells are RBC. To take oxygen to the cells.
  9. What are WBC?
Cells that help people stay healthy by destroying pathogens.
  10. What are Capillaries?
They are the smallest blood vessel, so small, blood cells must pass through single file.

    Spongelike, contains alveoli.
  18. Diaphragm
Dome-Shaped muscle, that, when contracting, increases the chest cavity
  19. Bronchi
2 tubes the trachea splits up into.
  20. Alveoli
Thousands of tiny sacs in the lungs
  21. Pharynx
Throat. Air, Food, Drink travels through. branches into 2 tubes. Esophagus->to the stomach. Larynx->To the lung
  22. Thrachea
Windpipe. Passageway for air trveling from larynx to the lung
  23. Digestion
    Process of breaking down food
  24. Saliva
Made in salivary gland, has enzymes that begin chemical digestion.
  25. Chemical and Physical Digestion
    • Large molecules being broken down.
    • Physical crushing and breaking of food.
  26. Esophagus
A Tube that leads from thrachea to the stomach.
  27. Large Intestine
Organ in the digestive system that stores compacts and gets rid of indigestible waste.
  28. Villi
Small finger like projections that increase the surface area of the Small Intestine
  29. Chyme
The digested mixture in the stomach
  30. Enzymes
A substance that breaks down nutrients
  31. Pancreatic juices
A juice in the pancreas that has enzymes
  32. Functions of liver
    • Makes bile
    • Stores nutrients
    • Breaks down toxic material
    • Makes cholesterol
  33. Bile
Something made and used in fat digestion. Stored in the gallbladder. Green
  34. Small Intestine
Where chemical digestion takes place. Covered in Villi
  35. Urinary System
Removing of waste products from blood
  36. Methods of extretion
    Integumentary, respiratory,urinary systems
  37. Kidneys
Pair of bean-shaped organs, clean the blood
  38. Nephron
    Tiny filterers in the kidneys
  39. Urea
Contains nitrogen, forms when cells use proteins
  40. Ureter
Small tube in which the urine leaves the kidneys.
  41. Bladder
    Where urine is stored
  42. Urethra
Where the urine leaves the body
