  1. Side effects of Salbutamol??
    • Tremor, palpitations, headache
    • Hyperglycaemia
  2. Dose of salbutamol in MDI?
    100-200mcg (1-2 inhales) as required, or 10 minutes before exercise
  3. Dose of salbutamol with a spacer?
    4 puffs (400mcg) via spacer. Repeat after 4 minutes.
  4. Counselling for salbutamol?
    Has the doctor given you an asthma action plan?

    Tell your doctor if you need to use this medication more than you hav been presribed or if it gets more frequent

    Regularly clean the mouthpiece of the inhaler
  5. Eformeterol/budesonide indication?
    Maintenance treatment of asthma inadequately controlled with inhaled corticosteroids or when stabilised on regular eformoterol and budesonide
  6. Adverse effects of eformeterol/budesonide?
    Tremor, palpitations, headache

    Hyperglycaemia
  7. Dose of eformeterol/budesonide?
    1-2 puffs twice daily - maintainance
  8. Counselling for budesonide/eformeterol?
    Take every day even if you feel well

    Tell doc if you need to take more regularly or differnt to as it was prescribed

    After using this medicine rinse your mouth with water, gargle and spit out.

    Do not use this medicine for immediate relief of symptoms.
  9. Indications for tiotropium?
    Maintaince treatment of COPD
  10. Adverse effects of tiotropium
    dry mouth, throat irritation

    RARE: urinary retention, constipation, acute closed-angle glaucoma
  11. Dose of tiotropium?
    18mcg inhaled daily
  12. Counselling of tiotropium?
    Do not use for immediate relief of symptoms.

    Do not allow the powder to come in contact with your eyes.

    Tell your doctor if you have any eye pain or discomfort, blurred vision or visual halos.
  13. indications for flutiocasone/salmeterol?
    • Maintenance treatment of asthma where use of combination product is appropriate (eg patients inadequately controlled with inhaled
    • corticosteroids or patients stabilised on salmeterol and fluticasone)

    Severe COPD with repeated exacerbations inadequately controlled with regular beta2 agonist therapy
  14. Precautions of fluticasone/salmeterol?
    COPD- increased risk of pneumonia
  15. Adverse effects of fluticasone/salmeterol?
    oropharyngeal candidiasis, bruising, tremor, palpitations, headache
  16. Dose of fluticasone/salmeterol?
    1 inhalation twice daily
  17. Counselling for fluticasone/salmeterol?
    Do not use this drug to relieve symptoms of an asthma attack; use short-acting reliever instead.

    Use this medicine every day even if you are feeling better.

    After using this medicine rinse your mouth with water, gargle and spit out.


    do not reduce dosage or stop this medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
  18. Indications for montelaukast?
    • Maintenance treatment in asthma
    • Allergic rhinitis
  19. Adverse effects of montelaukast?
    headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea
  20. Dose of monteleukast?
    10mg daily

    Kids lower dose
  21. Counselling for monteleukast?
    • Take this medicine in the evening.
    • Do not use this medicine to relieve symptoms of an asthma attack; use short-acting reliever.
