- Plasma osmotic pressure - draw fluid into capillary
- Interstitial osmotic pressure - draw fluid out of capillary
Types of lymphatic pumping
- Intrinsic pumping - smooth muscle of lymph vessels
- External compression - muscles around lymph vessels (unidirectional result due to valves)
Factors of edema
- Increased capillary permeability
- Decrease in plama osmotic pressure
- Elevated capillary pressure
- Lymphatic obstruction
