  1. what is metabolism?
Metabolism is the chemicalprocess that converts nutrients into energy and new tissue (growth and repair)
  2. What are Centosomes?
Centrosomes are rod-shaped bodies in the cytoplasm and are essential for reproduction.
  3. The process of cell division is called mitosis and occurs in thefollowing stages:
Prophase(first stage)During this stage, the nuclear membrane disappears. Centrioles, which arelocated within the centrosome, become active and form spindles.

Metaphase(second stage)During this stage, the chromosomes duplicate themselves and line up inpairs in the center of the cell.

Anaphase(third stage)During this stage, the two groups of chromosomes separate.

Telophase(fourth stage)During this final stage, a nuclear membrane develops around the new cellsand finally the daughter cells separate.

Interphase No division processes occur during this stage. It is a resting period formitosis but is the major period of a cell’s existence.
  4. what are the four main groups of tissue cells?
Epithelial ;SkinLining of passageways and cavities Protection Absorption Secretion

Connective; Between organs and tissue Walls of vessels Skeleton Blood

Muscle; Attached to bonesWalls of organs Heart wall

    Nerve; Nerves Brain Spinal cord
  5. types of muscles
Smooth (visceral ;This type of muscle tissue is found in the walls of interior organs of the body

Cardiac; Cardiac muscle tissue isalso considered involuntary and found only in the heart.

Skeletal; This type of muscle tissue comprises the muscles attached to, and enables the movement of, thedifferent parts of the skeleton. Skeletal muscle tissue is also called striated muscle
