Bumetanide (Bumex)

Diurectic

Potent diuretic with rapid onset and short duration on action

Loop diuretic that inhibits reabsorption of sodium chloride in kidneys. 1mg of Bumex = 40mg Lasix

• Onset: 1-2 min
• Peak: 15-30 min
• Druation: 3.5-4.0 hrs.
• Half-Life: 60-90 min

Pulmonary Edema

If pregnant use only if in life-threatening emergencies

Dehydration, electrolyte depletion, people allergic to Lasix may not be allergic to Bumex

Muscle cramps, dizziness, hypotension, headache, nausea, vomiting.
