  1. Standing Committee
    Where bills are reffered for consideration.
  2. Joint Committee
    Standing committtees that include representatives from both houses of congress and are set up to conduct investigations or special studies.
  3. Conferrence Committee
    Special joint committee created to reconcile differences in bills passed by the house and Senate. Made up of both House and Senate members that originally considered the bill.
  4. Select Committee
    Temporary committees appointed for specific purposes
