    Identify different bacteria

    • Gram Positive: crystal violet
    • Gram Negative: safranin-red or pink bacteria

    Viruses are two small to be seen by light microscopy (0.03-0.3 microns)

    Electron microscopy can resolve down to 0.002 microns especially good for visualizing surface structures
