Yamas Niyamas

  1. 1- Ahimsa
    Loving Kindness to Others, not blocking or obstructing the flow of Nature, Compassion, mercy, gentleness.
  2. 2-Satya
    Being genuine and authentic to our inner nature, having integrity, honesty, not lying, not concealing the truth.
  3. 3-Asteya
    Not taking what is not yours-money, goods, credit. Not robbing people of their own experiences and freedoms. Non-desire for other people's possessions, qualities, or status.
  4. 4 Brahmacharya
    Restraining from sexual misconduct, not lusting, relating to another with unconditional love and integrity without selfishness or manipulation.
  5. 5-Aparigraha
    Non grasping, non-possessiveness, not accumulating things beyond what is necessary.
  6. Shauca
    Cleanliness, orderliness, precision, clarity, balance. Internal and External Purification.
  7. Santosa
    Equanimity, peace, tranquility, acceptance.
  8. Tapas
    Burning desire for reunion with God expressed through self discipline, purification, willpower, austerity and patience.
  9. Svadhyaya
    self inquiry, mindfulness, self-study, study of the scriptures, chanting. Search for the Unknown divinity in the physical world.
  10. Ishvara Pranidhana
    Surrender to God, open-heartedness, love, willingness to serve something bigger.
  11. Compassion
