- This med interacts with many drugs. Tell any health professionals you are taking erythromycin.

Stop taking metronidazole if you have pain, numbnedd or tingling in hands or feet

Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids (at least 1.5–2 L daily).
Recurrent herpes simplex infections: carry a course of tablets with you so that you can start them as soon as you notice symptoms.
Dosage 5 times daily: take every 4 hours during waking hours.
