Mechanism of Action:
CNS depressant, Causes peripheral vasodilation, Decrease pain

Onset of Action:
- Onset: IV- Immediate IM- 15-30 Minutes
- Peak: IV- 20 Minutes IM- 30-60 Minutes
- Duration: 2-7 hours
- Half-Life: 1-7 hours

Indications:
Severe Pain, Pulmonary Edema (not first line), Cardiac C/P

Contraindications:
Head injury, hypotension, undiagnosed abdominal pain, Hx of hypersensitivity to drug

Precautions:
Respiratory depression, Hypotension, Nausea

Side effects:
Aletered LOC, blurred vision, constricted pupils, dizziness, headache, respiratory depression, vomiting

Adult dose:
- IV: 2-5 mg (Followed by 2 mg every few mins until pain is releaved
- IM: 5-15 mg based of pt weight

Pedi dose:
.1-.2 mg/kg IV

Max dose:
When pt has 0/10 pain or hypotension occurs
