    • Insertion: intertubercular sulcus of humerus

    • Teres Minor (located inferiorly to teres major)
    • Function: same as infraspinatus laterally rotation of humerus; helps hold head of humerus in glenoid cavity; stabilizes shoulder
    • Origin: posterior surface at inferior angle of scapula
    • Insertion: intertubercular sulcus of humerus
  7. Biceps Brachii long and short head
    function, origin, insertion
    • Biceps Brachii long and short head
    • Function: flexion (powerful) of elbow & supination of forearm
    • Origin: short head (coracoid process); tendon of long head runs in intertubercular sulcus & within capsule of shoulder joint
    • Insertion: radial tuberosity
  8. Brachialis
    function, origin, insertion
    • Function: major flexion of forearm
    • Origin: distal portion of anterior humerus
    • Insertion: coronoid process of ulna
  9. Brachioradialis
    function, origin, insertion
    • Function: synergist in forearm flexion
    • Origin: lateral ridge at distal end of humerus (lateral condyle)
    • Insertion: base of styloid process of radius
  10. Coracobrachialis
    function, origin, insertion
    • function: flexion and abduction of arm/shoulder
    • Origin:
    • Insertion:
  11. Triceps Brachii (long, medial, lateral heads)
    function, origin, insertion
    • Function: extends forearm (long head stabilizes shoulder joint)
    • Origin:
    • Insertion:
  12. Anconeus
Function: abducts ulna during forearm pronation; extends elbow
  13. Abductor Pollicis Longus
    Function: abducts and extends thumb
  14. Extensor carpi ulnaris and radialis brevis/longus
    extends and abducts wrist
  15. Extensor digitorum
Function: prime mover off finger extension; extends wrist; can flare (abduct) fingers)
  16. extensor pollicis brevis & longus
    Function: extend thumb
  17. flexor carpi radialis/ulnaris
Function: powerful flexior of wrist; adducts hand
  18. flexor digitorum superficialis
Function: flexes wrist & middle phalanges of fibers 2-5
  19. flexor digitorum profundus
    Function: pronates forearm
  20. flexor pollicis longus
    Function: flexes thumb
  21. palmaris longus
Function: flexes wrist (weak); tenses skin & fascia of palm
  22. pronator teres
Function: acts synergistically with pronatior quadratus to pronate forearm; weak elbow flexor
  23. pronator quadratus
    Function: pronates forearm
