  1. Constitution
    a written plan of government

    a document or statute outlining the basic laws or principles by which a country or organization is governed

    a person who owes money

    person who is in debt or under financial obligation to another
  3. Backcountry
    land beyond settled areas

    an area far from cities and towns that is thinly populated and largely undeveloped;land lying behind something, esp a coast or the shore of a river
  4. Planter
    somebody who owns or manages a plantation
  5. Overseer
    someone who supervises work done by somebody else;One who keeps watch over and directs the work of others, especially laborers (enslaved people).
  6. Indigo
    a plant that produces a blue dye

    a tropical plant of the pea family with fronds of pointed leaves and flowers, a source of indigo dye.
  7. Interdependence
    depending on one another for economic resources

    depending on each other: unable to exist or survive without each other; People depend on other people to produce most of the goods and services required to sustain life and living.
  8. Broker
    a person who is paid to buy and sell for someone else

    somebody who is paid to act as an agent for others, e.g. in negotiating contracts or buying and selling goods and services
