• 1. ATP synth occurs in inner Mito memb by oxidative phosphorylation.

2. O2 is electron acceptor at end of ETC, and lack O2=lack ATP synth.

• 1. Cyanosis
• 2. confused
• 3. cog impairment
• 4. lethargy

• 1. Ischemia
• 2. Hypoxemia
• 3. Ventilation defect
• 4. Perfusion defect
• 5. Diffusion defect

decrease arterial blood flow or venous ouflow of blood.

Examples: coronary art atherosclerosis, down CO, thrombosis of splenic vein

Consequences 1. Atrophy 2. INfarction of tissue (necrotic) 3. organ dysfxn (heart fail)
