Indications:
- Cardiac - Serve refractory V-Fib or Pulseless V-Tach,
- torsade de pointes
Respiratory - Bronchospasm, Asthma
OB - Ecclampsia

Contraindications:
- Shock
- Heart Block
- Severe Hypertension
- Third degree heart block
- AV block
- Hypercalcemia
- Dialysis

- Patients receiving Digitalis
- Hypotension
- Calcium Chloride readily available
- Patients with renal failure

Side Effects
- Flushing
- Respiratory depression
- Drowsiness,
- Dysrhythmias
- Hypotension
- Itching
- Rash
- Sweating
- Bradycardia

Adult Dose:
- Respiratory:
- 2 g over 2-5 minutes
- V-Fib and V-Tach:
- 1-2 g diluted in 10 ml of D5W administered slowly over 1-2 minutes IVP.
- Torsade de Pointes:
- 5 to 10 g diluted in 100 ml of D5W, administered at rate of 1 g/min
- until dysrhythmias is suppressed or max dose is reach
- OB:
- 1-2g in 1000ml run wide open
