    • papillae: filiform, fungiform, circumvallate
    • filifoorm: stratified squamous epithelium (keratinized)
    • fungiform: dorsal tastebuds
    • circumvallate: taste buds in wall of trough
    • taste bud structure:
    • posterior 1/3: (root): attatched to hyoid bone
