  2. Mechanism of Action
    Provies topical anesthesia to eye by preventing transmission of nerve impulses by inhibiting the sodium channels along a nerve pathway
  3. Indications
    Chemical injury to the eye without associated foreign body
  4. Contraindications
    Hypersensitivity
  5. Precautions
    • Remove contact lenses prior to use
    • Use longer than 2 hours may result in corneal ulcerations
  6. Side Effects
    • Blurred vision
    • Eye sensitivity
    • Coreal irritation
  7. Interactions
    None
  8. Dose and Route
    1-2 drops of 0.5% solution in each affected eye q 5 mins prn
