Administration is ½ to 1 hour prior to

Dosage guidline for Amoxicillin
• Adult 2 grams

• Child 50mg/kg
If Allergic to Penicillin
- Clindamycin
- Cephalexin
- Azithromycin
Dosage for clindamycin
- Adult 600mg
- Child 20mg/kg
Dosage for Cephalexin
- Adult 2 grams
- Child 50mg/kg
Azithromycin
- Adult 500mg
- Child 15mg/kg

- Cardiac
- • Prosthetic cardiac valves
- • Previous infective endocarditis
- • Complex cyanotic congenital heart disease
- • Heart transplant with valvulopathy
- Orthopedic
- • Joint replacement clients
- • Inflammatory arthropathics
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Systemic lupus erythematosus
- Other
- • Renal Transplant or dialysis
- • Immunosuppressive Therapy (cyclosporine)
- • Uncontrolled Diabetes
- • Sickle Cell Anemia
