    • extension
    • (when hip is extended)

  2. function of vastus lateralis, intermedius and medialis
    • extension
    • (when hip is flexed)

  3. function of biceps femoris
    flexion and external rotation

  4. function of semitendinosus and semimembranosus
    flexion and internal rotation

  5. exercises for rectus femoris
    cycling, jumping rope, leg press machine, squat, plyometrics, stair climbing, vertical jumping

  6. exercises for vastus lateralis, intermedius and medialis
    • resisted knee extension
    • in-line skating
    • cross-country skiing
    • (plus rectus femoris ex.)

  7. exercises for biceps femoris
    • jump rope
    • hamstring curls with knee in external rotation

  8. exercises for semitendinosus and semimembranosus
    • hamstring curls with knee in internal rotation
    • (basically same as bicep femoris)
