- TYPE I: Ruffini Mechanoreceptors: Respond slowly to static jt. position;
- TYPE II: Pacini Mechanoreceptors: Adapt to changes in jt. position: ligament tension, velocity of mvt.;
- TYPE III: Active at "extremes" of jt. motion, i.e., those that produce injury;
- TYPE IV: Free Nerve Endings: Pain & Inflammation
