  1. CLOPIDOGREL (PLAVIX)
    Class:
    Platelet aggregation inhibitor
  2. CLOPIDOGREL (PLAVIX)
    Mechanism of Action:
Keeps platelets from sticking together and preventingclot formation (prevents platelet aggregation)
  3. CLOPIDOGREL (PLAVIX)
    Indications:
    Acute coronary syndrome
  4. CLOPIDOGREL (PLAVIX)
    Contraindications:
    Active pathologic bleeding (GI, intracranial)
  5. CLOPIDOGREL (PLAVIX)
    Side Effects:
    Bleeding (including GI, and intracranial)
  6. CLOPIDOGREL (PLAVIX)
    Dosage:
    300mg
  7. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Class:
    Alkalinizing agent
  8. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Mechanism of Action:
When disassociated, bicarbonate binds with hydrogenion to decrease metabolic acidosis (mass action effect). When administered for TCA overdose, acts as adysrhythmic. Decreases the effects of hyperkalemia byshifting potassium into cells
  9. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Indications:
Hyperkalemia, tricyclic antidepressant overdose. Late in themanagement of cardiac arrest, if at all
  10. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Contraindications:
    None
  11. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Precautions:
Patients must be breathing spontaneously or adequately ventilatedbefore receiving sodium bicarbonate
  12. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Side Effects:
    Few
  13. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Interactions:
Deactivates catecholamines, forms precipitate with calciumchloride (if sodium bicarbonate is given before or after any of thesedrugs, flush the IV line to prevent interactions)
  14. SODIUM BICARBONATE
    Dosage:
    1 milliequivalent/kg IV push
  15. VASOPRESSIN
    Class:
    Antidiuretic Hormone
  16. VASOPRESSIN
    Mechanism of Action:
In high doses, vasopressin acts as a non-adrenergicperipheral vasoconstrictor. When given during CPR,vasopressin increases coronary perfusion pressure, vitalorgan blood flow, decreases defibrillation threshold
  17. VASOPRESSIN
    Indications:
Ventricular fibrillation, pulseless ventricular tachycardia, PEA and/or asystole
  18. VASOPRESSIN
    Contraindications:
    None
  19. VASOPORESSIN
    Precautions:
Do not give in patients with perfusing rhythms
  20. VASOPORESSIN
    Dosage:
Single bolus dose of 40 units IV. After 3-5 min, if there is no clinicalresponse, epinephrine 1 mg every 3–5 min can be givenHow Supplied: 20units/ml vial
