Do you keep brackets until nothing is left to work out?

Inside brackets, what do you work with first?

In formulae, ,if you subtract from one side of the equals sign, must the other side have been subtracted to be even?

In formulae, if you add from one side of the equals sign, must the other side have been added on to be even?

Powers mean..
(a) Multiply together. NOT add.
(b) Add. NOT multiply together
