  1. Palpate the temporal bone on each side of the head, lateral to each eyebrow.
    Temporal
  2. Palpate the anterior edge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, just medical and inferior to the angle of the jaw.
    Carotid
  3. Palpate over the apex of the heart at the fourth of fifth intercostal space, left medial space left midclavicular line.
    Apical
  4. Palpate in the groove between the biceps and triceps , just medial to the biceps tendon.
    Brachial
  5. Palpate anterolateral side of wrist, proximal to the first metacarpal phalangeal joint

  6. This pulse is inferior and medial to the inguinal ligament
    Femoral
  7. Lightly palpate the dorsal surface of the foot, with the foot slightly dorsiflexed.
    Dorsalis pedis
  8. This pulse is found posterior and slightly inferior to the medial malleolus of the ankle.
    Posterior tibial
