  1. complementary
    2 colors directly across from one another on the color wheel
  2. Split Complementary
    3 colors- 1 color and the 2 colors directly next to its complement
  3. Analogous
    3 or 4 colors that are directly next to each other on the color wheel (neighboors)
  4. Triadic
    3 colors which form an equilateral triangle on the color wheel
  5. Monochromatic
    1 color and all of its tints and shades
  6. Tint
    Color + White
  7. Shade
    Color + Black
  8. Composition
    How you arrange the different elements of a picture when creating a piece of art
  9. Focal Point
    a point of interest in the picture; you are drawn to that area of the piece first
  10. Balance
    both sides of the artwork are equally weighed
  11. Asymmetrical Balance
    Typically off-center or created with an odd or mismatched number of different elements. Usually the focal point is off to one side or in a corner of the piece.
  12. Radial Balance
    The elements in your design will radiate outward from the focal point or they will look as though they are travelling towards the focal point. (sunflower) YOU MUST USE REPETITION.
