  1. Gomphosis (fibrous)
    joint between the theeth and alveolar sockets of the maxillae and the mandiable. The tooth is held into the socket by the peridontal ligament
  2. Syndesmosis (fibrous joints)
    Bones are held together by a short ligament and a sheet-like interosseuos memebrane. Joints at the distal ends of the tibula and fibula and between the radius and ulna.
  3. Suture (fibrous joints)
    Is a joint between cranial bones. Held together by a very short dense fibrous connective tissue fiber that penetrates the bones. Ostification occurs in adulthood, so syntoses
  4. Fibrous joints (synarthroses)
    immovable joints, that allow little or no movement between bones
