-
Cervical Rotation
- Use red needle.
- Line first meter on top of head and second meter at T1.
- Rotate head to right and subtract T1's reading from heads reading. With out reseting meters rotate to left and subtract T1's reading from the heads reading.
-
Cervical Lateral Flexion
- Use yellow needle.
- Place first meter on top of head and second meter at T1.
- Have patient flex to the right then the left and take reading at end of each movement.
- Subtract reading from T1 from reading at head to get true number.
-
Cervical Flexion/Extension
- Use yellow needle.
- Place first meter on top of head and second meter at T1.
- Have patient flex head all the way forward and subtract reading from T1 from the reading from the head.
- With out zeroing out the numbers, have patient extend their head all the way back and again subtract T1 from the head.
-
Thoracic Rotation
- Use red needle.
- Place the first meter at T1 and the second meter at L1.
- Have the patient turn right and subtract the bottom number from the top number, then have the patient turn left and subtract the bottom number from the top number.
-
Thoracic Lateral Flexion
- Use the yellow needle.
- Place the first meter at T1 and the second meter at L1.
- Have the patient lean to the right and subtract the bottom number from the top number.
- Then have the patient lean left and subtract the bottom number from the top number.
-
Thoracic Flexion/Extension
- Use the yellow needle.
- Place first meter at T1, second at L1.
- Have pt lean forward then back. Subtract bottom number from top meter to get true reading.
-
Lumbar Rotation
- Use red needle.
- Place first meter at L1, second at S2.
- Have patient rotate to the right then to the left, subtracting the bottom number from the top at the end of each motion.
-
Lumbar Lateral Flexion
Use yellow needle. Place first meter at L1and second meter at S2. Have patient flex to the right then the left and take reading at end of each movement. Subtract reading from T1 from reading at head to get true number.
