  10. Continued operation in areas where super-cooled large droplet (SLD) icing conditions exist is
    prohibited
  11. SLD icing conditions are indicated by ice accretion on the flight compartment side windows.
    • • The Wing Anti-icing System must be ON in SLD icing conditions.
    • • The Cowl Anti-icing System must be ON in SLD icing conditions.
    • • Leave icing conditions when side window icing occurs.
  12. Ground Operations Anti Icing
    • The Cowl Anti-ice System must be ON when the OAT is 10°C (50°F) or below and visiblemoisture in any form is present (such as fog with visibility of one mile or less, rain, snow,sleet and ice crystals).
    • The Cowl Anti-ice System must also be ON when the OAT is 10°C (50°F) or below whenoperating on runways, ramps, or taxiways where surface snow, ice, standing water, or slushis present.
    • NOTE
    • Icing conditions exist in flight at a TAT of 10°C (50°F) or below,and visible moisture in any form is encountered (such as clouds,rain, snow, sleet or ice crystals), except when the SAT is -40°C(-40°F) or below.
  13. Flight Operations Icing
    • • The Engine Cowl Anti-ice System must be ON:
    • • When in icing conditions, or
    • • When ICE is annunciated by the Ice Detection System.
  14. Icing conditions exist on the ground when the OAT is 5°C (41°F) orbelow and:
    • Visible moisture in any form (such as clouds, fog or mist),is present below 400 feet AGL, or
    • The runway is wet or contaminated, or
    • In the presence of any precipitation (such as rain, snow,sleet or ice crystals).
    • Ground OperationsThe Wing Anti-Ice System must be selected ON for final taxi prior to take-off if the OAT is5° C (41°F) or below, unless Type II, Type III or Type IV anti-icing fluids have been applied.
    • NOTE
    • Final taxi to takeoff is defined as the period after both engines arestarted. Taxi to a deice facility would not constitute final taxi.The Wing Anti-Ice System must be selected and confirmed ON for takeoff, when the OATis 5° C (41°F) or below and:• Visible moisture in any form (such as clouds, fog or mist), is present below 400’ AGL, or• The runway is wet or contaminated, or• In the presence of any precipitation (such as rain, snow, sleet or ice crystals).NOTEIf the Wing Anti-Ice System is selected ON for takeoff, the CowlAnti-Ice System must also be selected ON.When Type II, Type III, or Type IV anti-icing fluids have been applied, the Wing Anti-IceSystem must only be selected and confirmed ON just prior to thrust increase for takeoff.

    the takeoff thrust settings and associated aircraft performance for 10th Stage BleedsCLOSED and Engine Cowl Anti-ice ON, can be used with Engine Cowl and Wing Anti-icingBleeds switched ON.
