  5. seismograph
    an instrument that constantly records ground movement
  6. magnitude
    measure of an earthquake size; a measure of the energy of an earthquake; specifies on the Richter scale
  7. aftershock
    a smaller earthquake that fallows a more powerful earthquake in the same area
  8. tsunami
    a water wave caused by an earthquake, volcanic eruption, or landslide
  9. liquefaction
    a process in which the shaking of the ground causes loose, wet soil to act like a liquid
  10. fault
    a fracture in the Earth's lithosphere along which blocks of rocks move past each other.
