  3. Pectineus
    • Origin: Superior ramus of pubis
    • Insertion: Pectineal line
    • Action: adducts, flexes and rotates thigh medially
  4. Adductor longus
    • Origin: Inferior ramus of pubis, anterior part
    • Insertion: Linea aspera of femur
    • Action: Adducts, flexes, and rotates thigh medially
  5. Adductor medius
    • Origin: Inferior ramus of pubis, middle part
    • Insertion: Linea aspera of femur
    • Action: adducts, flexes, and rotates thigh medially
  6. Adductor magnus
    • Origin: 1. Ischial tuberosity 2. Inferior ramus posterior to adductor brevis
    • Insertion: 1. Linea aspera 2. Adductor tubercle of femur
    • Action: 1. Adduction at hip 2. Flexion and medial rotation at thigh 3. Extension and lateral rotation of thigh
  7. Gracilis
    • Origin: Inferior ramus
    • Insertion: Proximal medial surface of tibia
    • Action: 1 Flexes at knee 2. Adducts and medially rotates at knee
  8. Sartorius
    • Origin: Anterior superior iliac spine
    • Insertion: Proximal medial surface of tibia
    • Action. 1. Flexes thigh and leg at knee 2. Laterally rotates at thigh
  9. Tensor fascia latae
    • Origin: 1. Anterior iliac crest 2. Anterior superior iliac spine
    • Insertion: Iliotibial band
    • Action: 1. Flexes and medially rotates thigh 2. Laterally supports knee
  10. Gluteus Maximus
    • Origin: 1. Iliac crest 2. Posterior gluteal line 3. Ilium 4. Coccyx 5. Thoracolumbar tract
    • Insertion: 1. Iliotibial tract 2. Gluteal tuberosity
    • Action: Extension and lateral rotation at hip
  11. Gluteus Medius
    • Origin: 1. Anterior iliac crest 2. Lateral surface of ilium between posterior and anterior gluteal line
    • Insertion: Greater trochanter
    • Action: Abduction and medial rotation at hip
  12. Gluteus minimus
    • Origin: Lateral surface of ilium between inferior and posterior gluteal lines
    • Insertion: Greater trochanter
    • Action: Abduction and medial rotation at hip
  13. Piriformis
    • Origin: Anterior lateral surface of sacrum
    • Insertion: Greater trochanter of femur
    • Action: Laterally rotates and abducts thighs
  14. Quadratus femoris
    • Origin: Lateral surface of ischial tuberosity
    • Insertion: Intertrochanteric crest
    • Action: Laterally rotates and adducts thigh
  15. Rectus femoris
    • Origin: 1. Inferior anterior iliac spine 2. superior rim of acetabulum
    • Insertion: Patella and tibial tuberosity
    • Action: 1. Extends leg at knee 2. Flexion at hip
  16. Vastus lateralis
    • Origin: 1. Greater trochanter 2. Proximal half of linea aspera
    • Insertion: Patella and tibial tuberosity
    • Action: Extend leg at the knee
  17. Vastus medialis
    • Origin: Linea aspera of femur
    • Insertion: Patella and tibial tuberosity
    • Action: Extends leg at knee
  18. Vastus intermedialis
    • Origin: 1. Anterior and lateral surface of femur. 2. Distal half of linea aspera
    • Insertion: Patella and tibial tuberosity
    • Action: Extends the leg at knee
  19. Biceps femoris
    • Origin: 1. Inschial tuberosity 2. Linea aspera
    • Insertion: 1. Head of fibula 2. Lateral condyle of tibia
    • Action: 1. Flexes leg at knee 2. Laterally rotates thigh
  20. Semitendinosus
    • Origin: Ischial tuberosity
    • Insertion: Proximal surface of tibia
    • Action: 1. Flexes leg at knee 2. Extends and medially rotates thigh
  21. Semimembranosus
