  1. Most common types of myelosuppression
    • Neutropenia: decreased neutrophils
    • Erythropenia (↓ RBCs)
    • Thrombocytopenia
  2. BRMS are usually human proteins
    • Originally purified from human immune cells

    • •Unstable, cannot be administered orally
    • Interleukins, antibodies and growth factors

  3. –FDA APPROVED USE:
    •Metastatic renal cell carcinoma (in adults)
    MOA:
    •IL-2 is a T cell growth factor
    •IL-2 stimulates: helper T cells, cytotoxic T cells, suppressor T cells, and memory T cells
    –PKIN:
    IV, half-life of 30-90 minutes
    Not orally active
    ALDESLEUKIN (IL-2; Proleukin®): (It's an interleukin ADRs)
  4. a very severe, common side-effect of high dose IL-2 treatment
    •Usually in the lung
    •Due to activated T cells that damage the endothelium (especially in the lung)
    –HEME: myelosuppression
    CAPILLARY LEAK of ADRs
