    morphine like drugs that relieve pain and cause CNS depression

    • may cause dizziness and drowsiness
    • repeated use may lead to dependance
  4. Nonnarcotic Analgesics
    (nonopioid analgesics)
    relieve pain without CNS depression
  5. Antirheumatics

    (ex. Salicylates and NSAIDS)
    used to treat rheumatoid arthritis in patients who have not responded to more traditional treatment
  6. Anti-Infectives
    Used to treat infection by killing infections agent or inhibits its growth
