    explains behaviour as a result of evolution - looks at how adaptive advantages brought about human behaviour
  10. Cross-Cultural Psychology
    studies how culutre affects behaviour
  11. Clinical Psychology
    studies psychological disorders
  12. Animism
    attributing phsyical laws to will and giving inanimate objects animation
  13. Rene Decartes
    • believed in rationalism: the pursuit of truth through knowledge
    • believed our bodies were like machines, governed by physical laws
    • believed in a mind seperate from the body (dualism) - believed muscles worked by a hydraulic system
    • believed body and mind were connected somehow (pineal body)
