    lining of body cavities that are in direct contact with outside enviorment
  17. occlusive dressing
    dressing with vaseline gauze, aluminum foil, or plastic, prevents air and liquids from entering or exiting a wound.
  18. open injury
    injury where there is a break in surface of skin, exposing deeper tissue.
  19. partial thickness burn
    burn affecting the epidermis and slightly dermis, causes blisters white-red skin.
  20. penetrating wound
    an injury resulting from a sharp, pointed object.
  21. rabid
    animal infected with rabies
  22. Rule of Nines
    System allowing calculation of percentage of burns to the body.
  23. Superficial burns
    Burn affecting only the epidermis, red not blistered.
