  1. Landing Gear
    • - 8 ply main (55 psi) - left main = squat switch - 3 green lts elongated, P-T-T - gear mute <25 deg flaps
    • - 6 ply nose (50 psi) - right main = stall warn & mx hobbs - Emg Gear ext on panel <100kts - 6 to 7 secs to deploy
    • - double puck brake - outboard stall = 0-10 deg flaps - 4 mast brake cylinders
    • - 2 pistons per side - inboard stall = 25-40 deg flaps - 14" or 25 deg flaps gear warn horn - DAU
    • - 4 pads per disk - barrel downlimit switches - gear unsafe annun panel
    • - vented disk brake - nose uplimit deactivates heater vent blower - Day/night switch dims
  2. Shunt
A conductor whose resistance is known so that voltage drop will be proportional to the current flowing through it. Through Ohms law voltage or ammperage can be deduced.
  3. Radio Master
    • Failed closed solenoid
    • Switch is closed before current is applied to circuit. RM opens when BM is turned on and current is applied. RM closes when turned on.
  4. What illuminates alternator inop light
    • 1) Turn off Alt Master
    • 2) Over voltage relay
    • 3) Alternator field coil breaker
    • 4) Alternator belt breaks
    • 5) Engine failure
  5. Seminole Prop System
    • Forces
    • 1) Centrifugal twisting force
    • 2) Spring & N2 force (36-41 psi)
    • 3) Aerodynamic twisting force
    • Antifeather locks - prevent engine from feather on shutdown or below 800 RPM
    • Unfeathering accumulator - 100 psi N2 / 290 psi oil
  6. Draw the heater system
  7. Draw the electrical system
  8. Draw the propeller system
  9. Hobbs meters
    • Flight time - oil pressure on right engine
    • Mx hobbs - right squat switch
    • Heater hobbs - heater fuel pump
  10. Annunciator Panel
    • * Low Bus Voltage - Tie Buss Voltage < 12.5 Vdc
    • * Pitot Heat off/Inop
    • Starter Engage
    • * Alternator Inop
    • * Oil Pressure
    • Gear Warning - gear neither full up or down
    • Heater overheat - 300 deg F
    • * - on prior to engine start
  11. Engine
    • 2 Engines
    • Lycoming
    • O-360-A1H6
    • LO-360-A1H6
    • 180 HP @ 2700 RPM
    • Four cylinder, direct drive, horizontally opposed, air cooled.
  12. Voltage Regulator
    • 1) Monitor - voltage tie bus, 14 Vdc
    • 2) Regulate - com with other VR to balance system load
    • 3) Protect - Pulls Alt off line if current > 17 Vdc
