    • mRNA and ribosomes come together
    • Starts at the P site with the AUG start codon
    • First amino acid is methionine
  7. Elongation
    • Add amino acids and form a peptide bond
    • Ribosome moves down the mRNA to the next codon
  8. Termination
    • Ribosome reaches the stop codon (UAA,UAG, and UGA)
    • Causes them all to come apart
