    add all the numbers up together and then divide the total by how many you added

    The median is the middle value

    • Example: 1,3,1,2,3, first line them up 1,1,2,3,3, then look at the number in the middle
    • Example: 1,4,2,5, First line them up 1,2,4,5, you see that there is no middle number, so you will add the two middle numbers and then divide them by two
  4. Mode
    The most common number


    1,2,6,1,1,4, First line them up, 1,1,1,4,6, Then identify the most common number
  5. Range
    The distance between the highest and the lowest number

    Example: 1,1,2,5,4,3,6, Identify the highest and lowest number: 1&6. Then subtract the lowest number from the highest number 6-1= 5 the range is 5
