  1. Coronary thrombosis occludes remaing small lumem of coronary artery
    • Peterchial hemorrhages seen on epicardium of heart
    • Can occur with coagulopathy due to low platelet count or sudden hypoxia
    • Fat embolism
    • Rounded clear holes seen in pulmonary arterial branch
  2. Pulmonary embolus in a major pulmonary artery branch
  3. Pulmonary embolus adherent to pulmonary arterial wall
    • Amniotic fluid embolism
    • Here, epithelial squames seen in peripheral artery
    • Lines of Zahn
    • Alternating pale pink bands of platelets and fibrin and red bands of RBCs forming a thrombus
  4. Small fibrin thrombi from widespread activation of coagulation system with DIC seen in capillary loops in glomerulus
