    1643. Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth, New Haven. To deal with Indian problems. Created mutual alliances for protection.
  2. Albany Congress
    1754. Conn, Md, Mass, NH, Pa, RI, NY. To deal with Indian problems. Proposed Albany Plan of Union (Ben Franklin)
  3. Stamp Act Congress
    1765. Nine colonies all except GA, NH, NC, VA. To protest the Stamp Act. Sent petition called Declaration fo Rights and Grievances. Boycott of British Goods.
  4. First Continental Congress
    1774. All excep Georgia. Leaders: Patrick Henry, Sam Adams, R.H. Lee, George Washington. To protest the INtolerable Act (closed Boston Harbor and revoked charter). Sent petition called Declaration of Rights, ordered another boycott.
  5. Second Continental Congress
    1775. All 13. React to the events at Lexington and Concord. Declaration of INdependence. Served as first National government and conducted by John Hancock.
