 Humans domesticcanids andfelids, swine,mustelids, and other piscivorous mammals

 Infection of humansoccurs by ingestion ofundercooked, salted,pickled, or smokedfreshwater fish

Diagnosis is usually basedon microscopicidentification of eggs instool specimens.
